Follow the Reader

Wed, 15 Mar, 2017 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Follow the Reader is an original program of the Jewish Federation Volunteer Center. Launched in the Fall of 2012, Follow the Reader began as a partnership between the Volunteer Center, the Early Childhood Development Classes at the Squirrel Hill JCC and PJ Library. How it works: Once a month from September to May, volunteers go to their assigned school and spend an hour reading stories, singing songs and leading the children in different fun activities. This hour is a highlight for students and allows the teachers a few extra minutes to prep for the rest of the day or take a little breather. PJ Library provides the books and songs to the volunteers in advance and each month there is a new theme/book/song. **Act 33 and Act 34 Clearances are required to participate in Follow the Reader**
